Big Canoe Rotary Club to Dedicate Flagpole to Community

The Big Canoe Rotary Club will dedicate a flagpole at the Wildcat Recreation Area in honor of the 50th anniversary of our community and in honor of Big Canoe’s veterans at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. The larger community is invited to attend the ceremony.

The Big Canoe Rotary Club is the local chapter of Rotary International, a humanitarian service organization that provides community service, promotes integrity and advances goodwill. Our community Rotary Club was chartered in June 2022. Fran Farias is the charter president.

The Club chose to dedicate the flagpole – with POA permission – as a grant service project.

“Since this is the 50th anniversary of Big Canoe, we want to acknowledge those who have worked to make this an incredible year,” Fran says. “Since many of our club Rotarians served our country, we want to pay tribute to our veterans.”
