Books and More Annual Sale – Something for Everyone

By Delaine Faris

The Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship invites one and all to the much-anticipated Books and More Sale. Put April 20 – 22 on your calendar and come see how the Chapel is transformed into a one-stop shopping extravaganza. Shoppers will be thrilled at the variety of treasures to be discovered, all at bargain prices. With all proceeds going to charities for women and children in our local north Georgia area, it is a win-win situation. So, what does Books and More have to offer you? The first thing you will notice is an entire room filled with rows upon rows of books. Looking for a good mystery? Or a book on gardening? Ye Old Book Nook has it all. You can find books on history, birds/wildlife, cookbooks, gardening, children’s books, fiction, nonfiction, biographies, religion, coffee table books, and much more.

In addition to books, this sale is called Books and More for a good reason. The Nearly New Boutique continues its success with gently used women’s accessories: jewelry, purses, scarves, and more. This boutique guarantees to be a fun shopping adventure, just like a treasure hunt. Rustic Décor and More is back this year. Shoppers will be able to find gently used items for the home and garden at bargain prices. This sale includes treasures specifically chosen for Big Canoe living. As the name implies, rustic style includes casual, simple, and natural home décor.  Looking for that perfect lamp? Or maybe some wall art, pillows, or baskets? Rustic Décor and More has you covered. New for Books and More this year is the Gift Den. This shop has everything you need for great hostess, birthday, and other event-style gifts.

And to make your shopping day even more special, stay and enjoy lunch. A yummy menu can be found each day at the Black Bear Café. What better way to plan your experience: shop, eat, and shop some more. To complete your day, a stop at the Heavenly Bakeshop will satisfy that sweet tooth in everyone. Cookies, brownies, and dessert bars are just some of the delightful confections available. The lovely ladies at the Heavenly Bakeshop will also be selling treats for your furry four-legged family members.

The Books and More Sale will be from 9 to 3 on April 20 and 21, and 9 to 2 on April 22. Credit cards are graciously accepted with cash or checks preferred please. The Women’s Fellowship thanks you in advance for your support of our first major fundraiser for 2023. All proceeds go towards supporting local charities devoted
to helping women and children in need in our community. Please direct questions about Books and More to Judi Schoeler at 315-415-5185 or Pat Papke at 630-802-1865.

Open to all women, Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship is a welcoming community-wide organization whose activities enrich members’ lives and create a legacy of caring and giving in the North Georgia area.  Visit our Facebook page, Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship and join the fun.
