Choctaw ladies take to the links

Those Choctaw Village People are really something. The neighborhood is always coming up with something new. The latest adventure happened on the golf course as the first-ever Choctaw Ladies’ Scramble teed off.

The Village lady golfers are planning to continue their newfound tradition twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Presently there are 17 lady golfers in Choctaw ranging from pro to beginner.

We played nine holes on Cherokee. The winning team was one under par, one team was par and the other two teams were four over par! Our sweet pro-Joan hit one shot for each team, a drive, and a second shot on two different holes. After the scramble, we gathered on Duffer’s patio to award prize money.

The hardest part of this new event was having to get up at midnight two weeks out to secure the tee times. But it was well worth the effort!
