Fabulous Arts and Crafts Crawl set for April 17

By Alice Eachus

Spring is in the air, fa-la-la! While our winter hasn’t been that awful, throw in the pandemic and life has had a dreary edge to it.

But hope is at hand as limitations are being lifted and folks are having fun again. After a successful Art and Crafts Crawl last fall, our Big Canoe talented artists and crafters are presenting an encore. Everybody in Big Canoe is welcome.

Cindy Bonner of Mud Hut Pottery presents a unique vase to be featured at the Crawl.

On Saturday, April 17 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm a gaggle of Big Canoe artists and crafters will present their creations for sale in driveways all around the community. It’s not a garage sale by any means! The works are fine examples of things that can make us happy. What a wonderful way to welcome springtime! If April showers fall, the rain date is April 24.

There will be houseplants and ferns for sale, rustic art splashed on wooden planks, painted glassware, wind chimes, garden ornaments, gourd art, candles, pottery, painted linens, jewelry, fanciful greeting cards and notes…whew, and there’s much more too.

Your GPS will be your best friend as you drive from home to home. Best to start at the North Gate and work your way around. For Crawl addresses and participating artists, visit the Made in Big Canoe Facebook page or any of the Big Canoe Facebook pages. Handouts are available too.

This is a wonderful day to invite friends and neighbors to have a little fun, socially distanced and taking precautious of course, while making light your wallet.

Come out and support the folks who bring streams of beauty and excitement into our lives. Crawl on!
