Kinetic by Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, announced it will launch gig cable in the Big Canoe community early next year. The announcement comes as part of Kinetic by Windstream’s multi-year promise to invest in fiber-backed gigabit services to households across its footprint.

Kinetic by Windstream currently provides high-speed internet to more than 2,290 homes in Big Canoe and the launch of gig cable at the beginning of the year comes highly anticipated by the community.
“We moved to Big Canoe in 2017. A huge factor in our decision was the work being done by BC’s Internet Task Force and the solid prospect of broadband internet access,” said Andrew Crane, current resident of Big Canoe and Kinetic by Windstream customer.
Gig cable allows customers to do almost anything from the comfort of their own homes. Customers are able to download huge files in seconds or start streaming favorite TV shows on Kinetic TV or YouTube TV instantly. With gig cable, customers can use multiple devices at the same time without a lag in speed or losing connection. Crane says the prospect of a further bandwidth upgrade is appealing and would benefit both current and prospective Big Canoe property owners, addressing the demands of seamless voice, video, gaming and ultra-high definition TV service.
Both Crane and his wife Sue work from home and making the change from DSL to a cable-based internet service has given them the ability to continually stay connected with greater speed and fewer glitches. “It’s not perfect, but Windstream deals well with Big Canoe’s challenging terrain and is very responsive to any issues we’ve had.”
