Big Canoe Holiday Celebration Preview

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

The winter holiday season is yet another opportunity for the Big Canoe to show what it does best: Have a good time. We’ll be unwrapping numerous Christmas events and every kind of holiday gathering imaginable in the coming weeks.

To help you save the date, we’ve listed Christmas activities in Big Canoe for next month. Additional details are forthcoming, so please be sure to revisit this page as info becomes available.

Winter Ball, 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, the Clubhouse

The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Atlanta Soul Band. Dinner selections include Filet or Black Striped Bass, which should be selected by the time of reservation. Tickets are $90 and include the cocktail reception, dinner and music. Tax and gratuity are additional.

Donate a Toy to a Child, Dec. 2 – Dec. 3

In the spirit of holiday giving, take advantage of the opportunity to donate a toy to the less fortunate in Dawson and Pickens counties. Each participant at the Winter Ball on Friday, Dec. 2 is asked to bring with them one unwrapped child’s toy. Big Canoe Christmas Drive-Thru in Village Core, Saturday, Dec. 10, Village Core

The Village Core will be lit up with holiday splendor and some surprises along the way for motorists driving through. The tour culminates with Santa in the Big Canoe Fire Station, where he will be giving out goodies and posing for pictures. More details coming soon.

Santa Brunch, Sunday, Dec. 11, the Clubhouse

Bring the whole family to sample some of Chef Michael’s holiday dishes with St. Nick – all while getting creative working with some Christmas crafts. Winter Wonderland will be in full swing at the Clubhouse! Seating times TBD.

Light up the Lake, 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, Lake Petit

Decorate your boat and join the Marina staff and the Awesome Women on the Lake (AWOL) on a Christmas Parade around Petit. Decorated boats should be ready by 5:15 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. launch.

A Visit from the Grinch, Tuesday, Dec. 22, the Clubhouse

The Grinch has come to steal Christmas in Big Canoe! Join us in the Clubhouse Mountains View Room for a special treat as the Grinch tells us his story and then sticks around for this year’s Christmas movie, the 2018 version of “The Grinch.” Children of all ages are welcome to this fun evening filled with treats and surprises.
