Books and More now accepting donations

By Beth Herren

The ladies of Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship may still be celebrating a successful 2021, but that has not stopped them from planning ahead.

A favorite event for Big Canoers, the Books and More Sale, scheduled for April 28-30, promises to be even bigger and better in 2022.

For readers not familiar with this event, it includes the Book Nook, a huge book sale of used books donated by the residents of Big Canoe. In fact, the committee is beginning their collections early. Book donation boxes will be up and ready for your donations through April 16 at the Postal Facility and Wellness Center. So start saving those books including hardback/paperback fiction, children’s books, coffee table, local, history, biographies, religion, gardening, birds/wildlife, collector’s books, and puzzles.

Also, the popular Nearly New Boutique will make a return with gently used jewelry, scarves, shoes, accessories and cocktail dresses. Shoppers will also be thrilled with something new this year: The Big Canoe Rustic Décor sale. Think lovingly used items for your home at bargain prices. Donated items for these shops will be gratefully accepted on Wednesdays in January from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. at the Chapel’s upper parking lot. The Women’s Fellowship proudly offers this fundraising opportunity to residents of Big Canoe and the surrounding area. Donate your books, boutique items and rustic home décor and then come shop the sale knowing all the proceeds from the Books and More event support local charities for women and children in north Georgia.

Questions: Pat Papke at 630-802-1865 or Judi Schoeler at 315-415-5185.

Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship is open to all women in Big Canoe and the surrounding area.
