Military always, always plans ahead

It’s just about five months until North Georgia Vets (NGV) take off for the road trip unceremoniously derailed by COVID-19 last year.

NGV is now ready to roll!

A convoy of cars will head to Savannah Oct. 19-22 to be welcomed by the Combat Aviation Brigade Commander, tour a static display of aircraft, test engagement skills using a small arms weapons simulator, visit the 8th Air Force Museum, tour the Green-Meldrim House (Sherman’s HQ during the Civil War), visit Fort Stewart and Fort Pulaski as well as experiencing additional military presentations.

Of course, social times are part of the trip including a stay at Homewood Suites in the Savannah Historic District on the riverfront, a riverboat dinner cruise and grub at the famous Pirate’s House.

Cost is $388 per person for the private touring bus, guided tours and meals, assuming 25 participants sign up. Final cost will be determined based upon participant total. We already have 32 on the trip roster so it’s looking good. Payment will be required in August.

Registration is open to NGV members and their spouses until July 20. The event will be expanded to friends and extended family members until August 20.
