Although the Racquet Club headquarters is in the midst of major renovation as the amenity temporarily operates out of the Wellness Center, don’t for a second think that they’ll have a quiet year in 2023. Despite the challenges of operating remotely, the Racquet Club has much to look forward to this year.
Tennis Round Robins will be ongoing on the indoor tennis courts with sessions for men and women every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. At the time of writing, the next available openings are on Saturday, Jan. 21. Sign-ups are online at the event reservation calendar.
Children and young teens can still look forward to enjoying tennis summer camps, and the racquet club will also offer youth pickleball camps this summer as well. Look for more details coming in February.
The Racquet Club is planning on celebratory events throughout the year. In March, the club plans to host a St. Patrick’s Day event as part of Big Canoe’s 2023 Shamrocks and Shenanigans lineup. Also planned: a grand re-opening party for pickleball and tennis in April. Additional details forthcoming.
Along with the renovations to the main building, members of the Racquet Club can also look forward to assorted improvements to the courts along with new fencing.
Ali Littley, merchandiser for all Big Canoe amenities, has already brought in a new variety of long and short sleeve shirts for tennis and pickleball. Pick them up while supplies last!
A Renovated Racquet Club
This spring, the rejuvenated Racquet Club building will be ready, with replaced flooring, improved lighting, an upgraded bathroom and more. “It’ll be wonderful to have everything in one location again,” Head Racquets Professional Geoff Hedges says.
